Save Our Stages (South Africa)
With the impact of Covid 19 affecting all South Africans, the music and live performance industry has come to a standstill. Our stages are empty and no music festivals are happening, leaving musicians with virtually no income stream. Statistics, as per “Mail and Guardian”, 41% of artists have sold some of their instruments and equipment to make ends meet, is a shocking statistic. It has also left a specific sector of society without hope.
SOS (Save Our Stages) aims to bring together, not only musicians, but a multitude of entertainment professionals. Creating an income stream for artists over multiple platforms. This will be facilitated with a three-day live broadcast from Cape Town and Johannesburg. This way the whole of South Africa can join in a movement, from the safety and comfort of their own home. Allowing South African’s a respite from all the negativity, while adhering to Covid protocols.
Only, together can we fuel the flames of hope.
